Psych-Works is a new approach to mental health that involves tailoring psychological support and service to individual lifestyles, rather than trying to force people to rearrange what are often stressful lives to fit a provider's schedule. Wherever possible, we try to offer maximum flexibility in arranging psychological services so that life becomes easier, rather than more difficult when people undertake psychological treatment.
Often people are discouraged from working to achieve good mental health because of demanding work schedules, family responsibilities, health issues and other time limitations. Sometimes a suitable therapist cannot be found within a reasonable distance or psychological services are not available locally. In these situations, trying to arrange psychological services may be an additional source of stress. Travel may also interfere with regular appointments, disrupting the type of steady work and attention which usually lead to satisfying mental health outcomes.
Psych-Works offers flexibility in appointments to avoid disruption of personal and professional schedules. By combining face-to-face meetings, telephone sessions and Skype contact, we strive to offer uninterrupted psychological therapy. We also work to offer the opportunity to work on psychological issues as they occur, rather than after lengthy waits for appointments.
Often when people fall into unproductive behavioral habits, these patterns repeat when triggers occur, with little opportunity to halt the response cycle and examine and restructure responses. In difficult relationships, where anger or alienation predominate, days and weeks can go by without improvement or change, leading to depression and hopelessness, as well as a drop in self-esteem.
Not appropriate for all psychological issues, Psych-Works is geared to those types of problems which require behavior change, habit retraining and attitudinal shifts. Although Psych-Works cannot provide emergency care, we can offer timely and convenient scheduling. For information on psychological treatment, click here.
